Traveling to Pokemon GO Fest 2019, in Chicago
Road Trip!!
Upon getting tickets for Chicago's Pokemon GO Fest, the reality hit me on the actual "going" part. It was my best buddy's birthday so I bought him a ticket to go, as well. I was beyond floored when he said he would not mind driving there, and back, and I told him I would help him pay for anything he needed.
Being a southern girl, I was born and raised by very strict parents who sheltered me growing up. Even now, being almost 30 years old, my father is still very protective, so telling him of my upcoming ventures, was not the easiest thing for me to do. Surprisingly, he was excited for me and said it was about time I tried "spreading my wings." My sister was also happy for me, and of course, both of them wanted to see pictures of everything.
Our Journey Begins: Leaving at 3 A.M.
The excitement of the trip had me barely sleeping. Also, I normally wake up around 4 or 5 A.M. on the regular basis. The hard part was that there were things I still had to do once I got home from work, the day before leaving. I tried to go to sleep early, around 7 P.M., but my body was not having it. Plus, with trying to get housework done before leaving on my trip, I had to wait until my sister got off work to finish the laundry, which was not until after 10 P.M. So, you can imagine, I really did not sleep, or rest, before getting on the road. Along the way, I sadly fought sleep because I wanted to see everything we passed, from state-to-state. As I mentioned before, this southern girl has never been outside of the south. Seeing a whole new part of the country, truly was exciting. With it being so early in the morning when we left, I was not able to take many photos along the way, but took more on the way back.
